BLUES / BLUES-ROCK

In this department you will find a variety of recordings selected from our main database in excess of 15,000 worldwide available titles. First and foremost, although we may enjoy hearing some of the albums that pass though the warehouse, none of the CDS staff are what you would call traditional ‘Blues’ fans, so we are limited in what we can recommend, but we know what we like and we ‘feature’ as much of that as we can. We have created this separate department, for as much as for any other reason, to simply allow customers to browse directly through the ‘genre’ instead of having to trawl through masses of other titles in the more ‘General’ department. Much of the data in this department is primarily based on the titles that ‘real’ ‘Blues’ experts, our customers, have purchased from us in the past. We are however always happy to recommend anything from artists we are familiar with. Classic electric ‘Blues-Rock’ acts like Cream and Robin Trower through to Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Southern Gentlemen are a few we are well into, plus other artists in a similar vein. When it comes to real traditional ‘Blues’, we are familiar with most of the big name acts, and some of us have a few things in our own collections by the likes of Robert Johnson, Hubert Sumlin and similar, tending to class earliest Fleetwood Mac in this bracket too. But when it comes to the vast range of acoustic blues, soul-influenced and mellow areas of the genre, we have to confess to having limited knowledge. But, that’s no reason not to feature them here, and all the more reason why you should ask us for anything you don’t see listed on the web pages - It’s an odds on certainty that the missing item will be in our vast database anyway!
